OMR exams have a different structure as compared to the regular subjective exams. OMR exam papers contain option bubbles which you need to fill completely to mark your answers.
You will be provided a set of instructions on your exam hall ticket; but if you are about to appear for an OMR test for the first time, it is best to prepare yourself thoroughly before you appear for the exam.
Remember to carry your examination admit card or the hall ticket, along with a valid photo ID. You will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without it.
Some OMR exams must be solved using ball point pens and some using pencils. If you don’t know which one to use beforehand, do carry a set of both.
Carry a blue as well as a black ball point pen, so you can pick the one as per the given instructions.
If you need to use a pencil for filling the OMR bubbles, stick to just HB or 2HB pencils. Lighter marks made using 2H or 4H pencils may not be properly read by the OMR software; and using darker pencils like 4B or 6B pencils might result in overfilling and the black marks may stretch too close to the adjacent/next bubble option.
Carry a good quality, soft eraser so you can change your answers. (applicable where pencils are allowed)
While most exam bodies restrict the use of whiteners, some who use the Addmen OMR software for evaluating the papers may grant you permission to use them. Carry a bottle of whitener along with you anyways, just in case.
Use of gel based pens and fountain pens is generally discouraged, as they can blot if not dried well. However, in rare cases, these are allowed. Ask the invigilator before using such pens, if you’re unsure.
