What is the difference between OMR and OCR?

OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) recognize the bubbles or check marks on the paper. OMR can read the marks filled in circles but it can’t recognize the characters. OMR technology is mostly used in Multiple choice exams, survey and census forms, etc.

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) recognizes all the characters from the paper document, collects and stores them into editable document. Hand written characters can be recognized by using this technology.
