It’s fairly easy to scan OMR with barcode with the Addmen OMR software. Barcodes act as an exclusive identifier on a sheet that is scanned, and each sheet has a unique barcode. Sheets are not always necessary to have similar identifier blocks. Along with the barcode, a sheet can have identifier blocks that can be registration number of candidate, answer book number or it can be form number.
Also there are few sheets that don’t contain such identifiers; they only have a barcode on them. Such sheets must be handled cautiously as compared to the others, because all the information such as who the sheets belong to is based on barcode only. Any damage caused to the barcodes or failing to read the barcodes properly make it extremely difficult to get the identity of sheet.
It is because of this reason it’s always good to consider barcode scanning at a resolution which is higher as compare to resolution in general OMR scanning.
Sheets with barcode are scanned at higher DPI and i.e. 100 plus. It is also vital to consider color scanning than grayscale or Black & White.
Barcodes get scanned properly and the chances of distortion or image skewing are eliminated to a great extent.
If scanning of barcode sheets is performed in Black & white format, there are strong chances that there are number of marks especially at Barcode edges which can make scanner unable to read them properly.
Considering the Addmen OMR software, it is possible to rearrange the images alphabetically, numerically or as per the barcode sequence after scanning. If barcode is not readable, sheet can be left with its actual name and later it is simple to identify such sheets.
Thus as a user you need to consider scanning of OMR sheets with barcode at higher resolution and in color mode than any other. This is all about how to scan OMR with barcode.
