Handwriting Reader ICR-OCR-OMR
The OMR or Optical Mark Recognition reader has the ability to detect black marks from an OMR sheet containing four index points, one on each corner. Addmen OMR software is integrated with (OCR) Optical Character Recognition and ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) for printed text or numbers, and images and handwritten characters, respectively. The presence of these readers has several advantages.
- OCR makes reading of printed alphanumeric characters possible, and ICR facilitates capturing of handwritten digits. Some OMR sheets like admission or other data collection forms have space where people have to provide information in writing. This includes name, address, course details, etc. As typing these details may lead to errors, most schools and colleges prefer using the OCR and ICR readers.
- Apart from handwritten content, admission forms also require the students to stick their photograph in the space provided, since these forms will be checked by the Form Reader, and this process will be followed whenever the candidates appearing for the exams are anonymous to the educational institution.
- Addmen OMR software allows you to not only read barcodes, but also insert them into the test sheets while you design them.
- You may use any regular flatbed or ADF scanner to scan the OMR sheets. Then, you shall process the scanned images using the OMR software, which collects data from the answer sheets and correlates that data with the answer key you have defined, to produce statistical reports and graphical-analytical reports.
